Whether you are navigating a challenging time, transitioning to a new phase of life, or in the process of deep inner work, here are my recommendations on how to naturally support your body’s process.
During times of transition, your body works hard and requires more energy. It is important to create an optimal inner environment to help navigate these shifts effectively.
Create a Warm Environment : A warm body relaxes and encourages energy flow, while the cold can cause tension. Wear layers to stay warm, drink herbal teas and enjoy warm baths or foot soaks.
Choose Easy-to-Digest Foods : A whole food balanced diet helps your body use less energy for digestion, allowing more energy for the healing process. Soups and casseroles are particularly beneficial during times of high stress and life changes.
Stay Hydrated: The body needs water to move energy and support detoxification, so keep yourself well-hydrated.
Go Easy On Stimulants: Alcohol and caffeine dehydrate the system and hinder the body’s natural healing process. If you choose to drink, make sure to have a large glass of water with it.
Rest: During times of big energy shifts, you use more energy than usual. Prioritize rest, and if you exercise, adjust your workout intensity as needed.
Connect with Nature: Spend time outside to soak up nature’s natural healing powers.
Honor Quiet Time: It is important to give your body time to adjust. If you feel like being alone, honor that feeling when you can.
Acknolwedge your Feelings: Feelings and emotions are inevitable parts of transition. Give yourself permission to feel in your own time and rhythm. Use tools to process your emotions safely, such as meditation, journaling, somatic practices, crying, or talking with someone you trust.
