A Real Client Story of Healing
Introduction
When we feel stuck in our healing, it can be disheartening, especially when we’ve done all the “right” things. But deep restoration often calls for a different approach, one that includes both the physical and emotional layers of our experience. Here’s a true story from one of my clients, shared with her permission.
“I’m doing everything right, but the more I do, the more I feel stuck.”
That’s what she told me during our first session. She had been living with chronic pain and tightness in her ankle for over seven years, ever since an injury that never quite healed. As a beautician, she was on her feet all day, and sometimes the discomfort was so intense that she couldn’t walk by the end of her shift.
Despite her efforts—rehab, treatments, being proactive—she only felt more stuck and let down by her body. Eventually, she reached out for one-on-one support, and we began a restoration process right away.
After two sessions, she began to notice a shift. The pain started to ease. At the fifth session, she told me she had been completely pain-free for an entire week.
“I feel free. I haven’t felt this good in years.”
What changed?
Here’s what we worked on together:
- Relaxing tension held in the body from chronic pain
- Releasing the energetic residue of shock and fear from the original injury
- Clearing frustration and self-directed disappointment
- Processing difficult emotions tied to her hospital and surgical experience
- Releasing pressure to constantly push herself
- Shifting from “proving herself” to embracing “I am enough as I am”
- Letting go of over-responsibility and over-giving tendencies
- Supporting healthy habits through self-love rather than guilt
- Practicing restorative breathing to regulate the nervous system
Still Pain Free and Guilt Free
I caught up with her recently (One months after she became pain free) , and she shared that she’s still pain-free, back at the gym and even enjoying high-intensity training without any niggles.
She now embraces downtime and a slower, more easeful pace of life, without guilt or the feeling that she’s failing by doing less.
We now have 1:1 sessions every two months as a tune up, and she regularly attends Group Sound Healing to clear day-to-day stress and to maintain her renewed energy through deep restoration.
If you’re living with recurring pain or feel frustrated by a slow recovery, you’re not alone. With a holistic approach, one that supports the body and the emotions held within it, sustainable relief is possible.
Just because you’ve been carrying something for a long time doesn’t mean you always have to. Things can shift.
